Microsoft wants your input for Windows Phone 7.8

Microsoft really really care. They even want to know what features you would like to see in Windows Phone 7.8 - you know, the update for the orphaned batch of WP devices that are not getting WP8 aka Apollo.

If you have anything on your mind that can make it all better, head over to

Give them the ability to run Android apps and iOS apps.

Oh they mean features that they will implement? Ok, erm, a yellow theme?

Hahaha... wonder if the old handsets will get mass storage or MTP with 7.8?

well considering WP7.8 handsets have microSD support, and Nokia's more modern and up to date range of WP8 phones, erm, dont, i dont think its a priority for them! :)

True. Access to the file system, mass storage etc... would be more important for me than SD card (depending on memory... 16GB min)

Well half of the new pair does, can two amount to a range?
7.8 has microsd support?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't. On the few devices that had an SD card slot, 7 proved very fussy about which cards it could use (it needed high random read/write speeds). Something about it treating all available storage as one drive...

Mass Storage Mode would be a big one. VOIP integration (if possible). A 'hobbiest mode' unlock? Maybe not for 7.8, but hopefully in the future once WP7 is actually dead and gone.

Yes, a 'hobbiest mode' or dev mode would be great. Hello. without WinMo's tweakable file system/registry we wouldn't have XDA! Pre, N9, N900 all let you easily enter dev mode.

I like everything about my Samsung Omnia W which is running windows 7.5. But there are two main disadvantages. I want these 2 to be fixed in the 7.8 update.
1. BLUETOOTH support should be added
2. MASS STORAGE support should also be added.
