Microsoft Office Mobile comes to Symbian

Microsoft Office Mobile comes to SymbianThings are pretty sweet in the world of Symbian right now. Er, if you ignore the fact that it only has a few years to live.

Symbian Carla is on the way, the Nokia 808 PureView was one of the stars of Mobile World Congress, and now Microsoft Office Mobile is available. Huzzah!

Nokia and Microsoft are obviously incredibly cosy at the moment, so it makes sense that Symbian should get some Office Mobile loving, even if it is doomed. Until now, the full Microsoft Office Mobile experience was only available on Windows Phone.

OneNote, Lync 2010, Document Connection and PowerPoint Broadcast have been available for Symbian since February, and they’re now joined by Word Mobile, PowerPoint Mobile and Excel Mobile.

If you have a Nokia 701, Nokia 700, Nokia 603, Nokia E7, Nokia X7, Nokia C7, Nokia Oro, or Nokia C6-01, you can grab Microsoft Office Mobile using the Nokia Software Update tool or Nokia Suite on your PC. Microsoft Office Mobile will also come to the Nokia Store in “just a few weeks”.

We're told the Nokia N8, Nokia E6 and Nokia 500 will get the Office treatment, er, at some point, and the 808 PureView will ship with Office Mobile goodness.

Laugh. But lets face it: the PureView will outsell all WP devices this year.
Unless, of course, Nokia sabotage its success by launching it in "select markets"... a la N9.
And the Ovi/Nokia-store is STILL more profitable for devs of paid-for apps than the Android PlayStore.
