It's taken its sweet time getting here, but Microsoft has finally settled on a UK launch date for its Windows 8-fuelled Surface Pro tablet.
May 23 is the day in question – that's a week from today – and we hope you've been saving up: you'll need a minimum of £719 just to get in the game.
That's for the “base” 64GB version, and while you get a stylus in the box, you don't get a keyboard. It'll set you back an extra £99 for the touch keyboard, or £109 for the model with depressible keys.
If that's too rich for you, the Surface Pro does work with standard Bluetooth keyboards, though of course you won't be getting the full Surface-branded experience.
There's also the 128GB Surface Pro, which ups the basic price to £799. In both cases, you can add to the included storage via microSD card.
As for the rest of the basic spec, you're talking a 10.6in full HD display, an Intel Core i5 processor with 4GB of RAM, 720p video recording back and front, full-size USB connectivity and of course Windows 8 Pro.
