Three new mid-tier Series 40 phones from Nokia

Three new mid-tier Series 40 phones from NokiaSo the big news to come out of Nokia Connection was of course the MeeGo-running N9 (finally), but the Finns also took the opportunity to show off three new Series 40 chaps with wallet-friendly price tags.

There’s not much to separate the Nokia C2-02, C2-03 and C2-06 in terms of specs, however there’s still a vague air of mystery surrounding the latter. Read on.

All three will rock the popular mid-tier OS, Series 40, with a 2.6in 240x320 touchscreen, FM radio, media player and 2MP camera. The 10MB of internal memory can be expanded to 32GB via microSD.

The C2-02 and C2-03 both have slide-out numeric keypads, being part of Nokia’s Touch and Type range. The Nokia C2-03 offers dual SIM action, so it’s not clear if we’ll see it here in the UK.

Reports on the C2-06 vary. The press shots don’t show a keyboard, but it could be hiding in there somewhere. Otherwise, the only thing setting the C2-06 apart from the C2-02 is the range of colours. We’ll keep digging and see if we can clarify the dealio…

The Nokia C2-02, C2-03 and C2-06 are all expected to land in Q3, with price tags in the €75-80 region. That’s around £65-70 to you and me.
