Five million Samsung Galaxy Notes sold in five months

Five million Samsung Galaxy Notes sold in five monthsThe Samsung Galaxy Note: to be honest, I rather like it. Or I did when I first heard about it, anyway. Since then, a good few whispered assurances that it's actually quite rubbish have cooled my enthusiasm.

Well it turns out maybe I was listening to the wrong people, as the original “phablet” has now hit the sales milestone of five million units sold in five months. So it can't be that bad, really.

Either that, of course, or there are now five million upset people feeling like they've been “Samsunged” in a whole new way. But probably not.

Now we know that Apple takes about six minutes to sell that many iPhones, but if you consider that Samsung has taken quite a considerable punt on releasing a phone with a 5.3in screen and a stylus, that's indeed "not bad" as Jan put it a little while ago. Plus, let's not forget that it only went on sale in the US last month.

So well done Samsung – we raise our S-Pens and salute you. Well, not me personally, cos I never ended up getting one, but everyone else. Now how about doing something really useful and finishing work on that Android Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade, hmmm?

People. Choice. 5 million bought the Note. The 7 billion other people cannot all be neanderthals...

More than a fifth of iPhone users regret buying their new handset
43 per cent feel 'smartphone envy' of other brands
Nearly three-quarters of men go off iPhones

Maybe you are right, maybe the millions of Apple users are neanderthals??

Hahaha... You should have bitly-ed that link. The daily F*cking mail? You bring the Daily Mail into a serious (?) debate? What else? Used condoms to a knife fight?
Sorry ,
You lost me. Go on. Knock yourself out. I have some old paint somewhere that I can watch dry. Us Neanderthals enjoy that...our handz iz too small to stir it...

Whilst searching for the number of purchased Iphones/smartphones, that link was one of the top results. The only other information around is that from pro-Apple fanbase. Lose-lose really. Don't shoot the messenger.

And that link explains why every new iPhone sells more units than the previous model?
I'm not only active here, but on other phone sites also; have been for many years.
For every person dropping iOS there's one dropping Android. The kind of 'study' the Daily Quail published is bull, and worse: you know it ;)

@ Opheliac

benefit of the doubt that you've either got some big balls

There is a level of threatening mood-enhancement in that statement that I am not comfortable with.
I've told you before that there are lines you will need to cross elsewhere. There are joke, there is teasing, and hey, trolling. How "big balls" even get into your train of thoughts without a ticket is utterly beyond me.
So please....

Just followed a link from Lewis' latest article to this one. I read all the comments again, it was a right laugh. I thought everyone else involved in this thread might like to read it again, so here's a notification.

Think of this as my Xmas present to you all :).
