Mirror’s Edge: first EA Lumia exclusive arrives

Mirror’s Edge: first EA Lumia exclusive arrivesRemember way back in October 2011, almost nine months ago, EA and Nokia announced an agreement that’d see a host of exclusive games launched on the Lumia handsets?

Well, the first of those games has finally arrived, and it’s none other than Mirror’s Edge, a port of the console game of the same name.

When I say “exclusive”, I mean – of course – that Mirror’s Edge is exclusive to the Lumia handsets as opposed to the Windows Phone "ecosystem" as a whole.

Mirror’s Edge has actually been available for iOS for a while now. Interestingly, it doesn’t appear to be available for Android.

For those unfamiliar with Mirror’s Edge, it’s essentially a runny, jumpy, slidey type game. I believe the kids call it “free running” or “parkour”. The smartphone edition moves out of the first person view of the home console version, but it still looks pretty freakin’ slick.

If you have a Nokia Lumia handset, you can grab Mirror’s Edge for £2.29.

Other games tipped as Lumia exclusives include:

  • FIFA 12
  • Madden 12
  • Tiger Woods PGA Tour
  • Dead Space
  • NBA Jam
  • Bejeweled 2
  • Hasbro Collection

Nice game on the iPad - but on a smaller screen?

Played it and it does indeed seem slick, although, the smaller screen kinda takes out the FPV from the console version. Can't pay for it for some reason. :(
