If on tmobile or orange the Orange San Diego is quite nice and is in that ball park.

Is this single core or dual core? 2gb rom on it which means the 32gb microsd will com in handy.

It;s single core and you don't get a micro SD card.
It's basically an Ascend G300 but with a bigger screen. Not worth the price tag if you ask me.
If you're going to delve into chinese market then go for this dual core higher res phone instead.
Or this one with 1GB ram.
(Can get cheaper on import)
But i don't think this guy is looking for a chinese phone. Looking for a brand like the phones i recommended above.

Save like crazy until you have the extra £80 needed and get a nexus 4, spec wise for the price it blows everything else away
If a phone is needed, buy this (or another cheap phone) THEN save like crazy and get a nexus 4 http://m.hotukdeals.com/deals/alcatel-ot-983-android-payg-39-99-shop-o2-1366627

Agree with kpmatthews. It's no contest at this price point.

Only if she doesn't like the son much..

Ace 2 (and this time it does have front camera) at p4u for £143 and small coins.

hi Pondlife! yeah so i spotted the Ace2 digging through HUKD forum today. it's almost certainly, I think the best phone under £150 (from a major brand with UK support). and it has official JB on the way. without wanting to start the whole OS war, the Lumia may well be a good phone, but it's going to be ruled out by many because of (lack of) app support.
G330 is another possibility when it's available on PAYG in the new year, but it's not looking the best unless the price is nearer to £100 than £150.

Good spot indeed, thought it needed mentioning here.
Only looked for prices of it yesterday after AhmadCentral mentioned it above and couldn't see it for less than £180 and mostly at £200 so was surprised when you said it was around £150.
Nov. 24, 2012 at 21:02
Yep, all the phones in my first post can be had for under £150 if you look around.
Btw i'm not sure why i've mentioned the Xperia J... it;s not that good spec for the price. It's an overpriced G300. I think i must have meant the Xperia U. Though the lack of onboard storage is a huge concern,
I've edited the original post now so it says U rather than J. Or maybe it was changedby magic...

I did look around and only saw it at kikatek for about that until I read Smiff's link on modaco
My mind edited what you wrote to the U anyway

My dad has an Ace 2, it's a decent little phone, much better than the Galaxy W it was replacing. If it's getting official JB from Samsung then it seems like a pretty good deal for under £150.

I couldn't find the deal at all on HUKD? Is it even on there. I've just posted it on there now here-
Nov. 24, 2012 at 22:46
No I couldn't find it there either but smiff said he saw it there, maybe mentioned in a p4u sale thread
Nov. 24, 2012 at 23:04
I used the all powerful 'Advanced search' and found nothing...
So just posted. Have to say that it's a really good price for under £150. Love how prices seem to drop so quickly these days.

From looking around hukd it has been even lower for those upgrading at least.
