Is mobile broadband a con?

A friend of mine got a mobile broadband dongle and I'm like - why not just get home broadband? It's faster and cheaper! Think some sales person smooth talked them!

Mobile broadband is really what it says in the name. It's for broadband on the go. People with a laptop who travel or need an internet connection outside of their home.

It is not to be used as a replacement for a fixed line connection. Especially when the data limits are so low.

So yeh, he may find himself with crap signal, or with a huge data bill if he treats it like a fixed line.
