How much mobile data do you go through in a month?

Just out of interest :) How much mobile data do you use a month?
I know some people get by on a few hundred MB but others need at least 1GB.

Nokia N9 - 400-500MB. When I use Android it's two to three times that. Go figure ;)

I'm trying out Three and have been using their £15 30 day unlimited data PAYG option since September 9th, so far I've used 2.76GB according the Android Data Manager. That's without tethering as only the One Plan (which is only available as a contract option) offers it. I haven't been using Wi-Fi but other than that I haven't been using my phone any differently to normal (bar the fact YouTube won't stream in HD over 3G, which is incredibly annoying since I get 13mbps which is easily enough to stream HD video).

I think that works out at 27.6GB per month. More if I download the hacked YT app which will stream HD over 3G.

currently; 0mb.

When I was still using mobile data; several gigabytes a month.

2-3gb, use giffgaff.
podcast streaming and email attachements etc is culprit I think.

satchef1  Sep. 12, 2013 at 18:36

1-2GB. If I could get a decent signal at home then I'd use a lot more - I only get 1mbps broadband here. I'm not a heavy video user really, with most of my data use being Spotify and Audible.

Dito, rarely use Youtube etc... email, news, Twitter, Mobot and some light Tumblr browsing.

universe1992  Sep. 12, 2013 at 19:26

Last month I used about 10gb , I tether on my galaxy s3 three network.

AhmadCentral  Sep. 12, 2013 at 20:56

80GB.
Thank God for that, I thought I was some kind of freak making my way through just under 1GB per day haha. Do you use your (I assume) Three connection instead of broadband?

Exactly my thoughts! haha!

Na, 80Gb is the max i used once when my home broadband went down. On average it's usually around 10-20GB now depending on what i need to get done or upload/download.

I've got WiFi at home and at work, so I only use mobile data when away from either of those two places (commuting, lunch, weekends, holidays).

I average 140MB/month, highest in the last year was 323MB.

plati65  Sep. 13, 2013 at 08:01

So far this month? 12MB, likely 30-50mb by the end, as you can imagine being on the three network their 123 deal suits me just fine.

Although admittedly, before when I was having to pay extra for data bundles, I was using a lot more, but most things I need to do just aren't that urgent, uploading and downloading things can wait until I'm on wifi.

JanSt / MOD  Sep. 13, 2013 at 09:29

plati, what phone do you use - if I may ask

CTPAHHIK  Sep. 13, 2013 at 10:02

Around 150MB - 200MB per month.
Around 3GB on WiFi.

mrew42  Sep. 13, 2013 at 11:17

1.2Gb this month, most of it Google Play Music as I took the plunge and uploaded 12,000 tracks from my PC (which are also on my iPod Classic) . I've been streaming a bit to see if I can ditch the ipod for just my Nexus 4 (16gb) with 110Gb cloud music storage :)

ian2606  Sep. 15, 2013 at 16:33

I use maybe between 50 and 200mb on 3g.....but have gone through 40gig on wifi.....usually around 20gig/month wifi....watch a lot of youtube vids, and download games update apps through wifi.....do have around 150 apps on phone...

That awkward moment when you forget to switch Wi-Fi on and used 40GB over 3G!

Last month on 3's The One Plan using my Sony Xperia Z: 333GB. I have no issues with throttling (traffic management), at all and use my phone as a portable Wi-Fi hotspot (tethering), instead of forking out for a telephone line and broadband... very happy since the upgrade to DC-HSDPA in Eastbourne (where we definitely won't get LTE until probably 2015). This gives me download speeds comparable to LTE and pretty good ping times: 20.6Mbps down (16Mbps average) and 2.4Mbps Up with 32ms ping times... So truly unlimited data, 5000 txt messages and 2000 cross network minutes for £31/month = total bargain! https://www.dropbox.com/s/orihpfwg140i5xq/Screenshots.png

Any chance you can set it to mobile data only and then show us that screenshot.

Don't think it's possible to single out mobile data only on Xperia.
