Is mobile data overpriced?

Well I suspect it is overpriced, but are we paying way over the odds?
Is data cheaper in other countries?

Data prices have gone up on some networks and down on others.

It really depends what network you're on. For example Three and Giff Gaff do unlimited data at the £12pm price point on a sim only. Vodafone do 500mb at that same price.

I reckon the US government should subsidise our data - you know, PRISM and all.
Maybe a "fascism opt-in" discount.
Anyhoo: Yes, it IS overpriced.

Compared to US data is very, very cheap here, you know PRISM and all.

This is the most accurate answer. Like anything in life, you can get good deals, or you can get ripped off. It all depends what you buy and who you buy it from. As a general rule, Three are the best network in the UK for data, both price and speed wise. Just check you get coverage in the areas you need it.
