What was your first ever mobile phone?

My first ever phone was the Philips C12.

I loved that phone! When I'd had it for about a month, I remember wondering how I coped before.

What was your first phone? You might be able to spot it in our phones database, the list of manufacturers is here: http://www.mobot.net/phone-list or you can use the phone finder on the top right of this page.

If you cannot find it in our phones database, let me know the model number in the comments below, and I'll make sure it is added to the database.

If you find your phone there, be sure to click "had" on it. :)

Gawd I feel old, my first phone was a Nokia 232. Had to travel to Cambridge and back, about 500 mile round trip because they didn't have any shops up here. Used to feel embaressed when I first used it because personal mobiles were still relatively uncommon and people used to look at you as some kind of poser LOL. Became quite trendy though when Mulder started using one in the X-files.

Mine was the Philips C12, closely followed by the Nokia "Brick" 5110 built like a tank, and weighed nearly as much http://www.all4mobiles.com/photo/nokia%205110.gif

Then the classic Nokia 3310 http://dinofizz.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/nokia3310.jpg

Like a few others my first was the Ericsson GA628 with its changeable coloured keypad cover and ring around the aerial, was on 'Vodafone 20' a bargain at only £17.50/month including a whole 20 minutes of calls to landlines or other Vodafones (the cost of calling other networks didn't bear thinking about!) you couldn't even text other networks at all to start with!

That was followed by: Nokia 3210, Nokia 8210, Ericsson T68 (woohoo colour screen!), Siemens SL55 (tiny - like a small bar of soap), LG 8120 on Three (worst phone and network ever!), Motorola RAZR V3, Sony Ericsson W580i, Sony Ericsson T303i (ended up in profit on that contract!) currently have the Nokia 6303 Classic which is possibly the perfect dumbphone. Next on the list will probably be the Samsung Galaxy Ace unless I change my mind before the contract runs out next month.

My first phone was an acatel..it used to burn my ear when I was talking on the phone for long.

lhennessey  Jun. 30, 2011 at 21:21

A very very old Sendo. Still have it somewhere

memay  Jul. 7, 2011 at 20:33

My first was the motorola m300 like asanchez but my first contract phone was the revolutionary Nokia 7650 http://nokiareviewz.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/7650.jpg

Thought I'd contributed to this already! My very first phone, cost £19.99 from TJ Hughes, which had just opened, circa 2001.

Sony CD5e. When I look at a picture of it now it looks really ancient!

A year or two later, I remember being quite smitten with my new Nokia 3310.
