Mock-up shows iPad Pro dwarfing existing iDevices

As we head into space year 2015AD, the iPad Pro (or “iPad Air 2 Plus”, if you prefer) is basking unashamedly in the rumour spotlight, as it’s generally accepted that the thing will materialise – finally – in a matter of months.

In the meantime, some dude has concocted an iPad Pro mock-up using recently rumoured dimensions, confirming that it’s a) a lot bigger than the iDevices we already know and love, and b) commensurate with the 13in MacBooks. It’s BIG.

The iPad Pro mock-up appears in a YouTube video, appropriately titled: Apple iPad Air Plus / iPad Pro: Size Comparison To Other Apple Devices (Mockup).

We’re assuming the iPad Pro has dimensions of 12in x 8in, and a resultant diagonal display size of 12.2in. That’s a little smaller than the 12.9in figure that was drilled into our heads many months ago, but it’s still bloody massive.

Amusingly, even the gargantuan 5.5in iPhone 6 Plus looks miniscule next to the proposed iPad Pro, ditto the 7.9in iPad mini.

Perhaps the biggest surprise is that the 12.2in iPad Pro mock-up is nigh on identical in size to 13in MacBooks - both Pro and Air. Incidentally, that raises a whole bunch of questions about the iPad Pro, such as: Will it run iOS or OS X? And: Will it be more of a touch-focused MacBook than a giant iPad?

If the rumour mill is to be believed, we could meet the iPad Pro - whatever it is - as early as next quarter.

I thought Apple already answered that question? The OSs will become more similar, and make it easier to 'cooperate' more closely, but the OSs will remain distinctly distinct.
Until that changes®

PS: I'd buy a 12in iPad. BUT ONLY if Apple change iOS and finally 'borrow' from the Note Tablets and PC OSs.Gimme windowed apps, let me drag content from one app to the other - it has, to some degree, worked on jailbreak iPads for quite some time now. The same just even more bigger ain't funner.
