With a press release straight out of Basingstoke (no joke), Hello Moto has lifted the lid on the Motorola Defy+ JCB Edition.
The Motorola Defy+ was marginally different from the original Motorola Defy, and this new JCB-flavoured chap is marginally different once again. You’re too good to us, Moto.
As the press release reveals, the Motorola Defy+ JCB Edition features a “patented visco-elastic protective sleeve from JCB with re-entrant geometry”. Well that goes without saying.
There’s also a number of bespoke JCB applications, including a spirit level, theodolite, decibel meter and recorder, torch, unit converter, calculator and DIY store locator.
Burly building site men will also be able to use the Motorola Defy+ JCB Edition as a walkie-talkie (over the cellular network), with Push To Talk functionality and group calling.
Other Motorola Defy+ JCB Edition specs include a 3.7in Gorilla glass display, 1GHz processor, 5MP camera, 2GB internal storage and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). As before, it’s water, dust and scratch-proof.
Victoria McManus, Motorola Mobility’s UK marketing director, barked: “We’re thrilled to be working with JCB on this bespoke Motorola DEFY+ device. The unique protective sleeve will pull on JCB’s years of expertise in the construction industry to help us reach a new audience who we know are in need of a life and work proof handset.”
The Motorola Defy+ JCB Edition is available now, with an RRP of £259.99.
