You’ll forgive us for cynically thinking that the Moto X launch had been “confirmed” for August 1, but no – it’s actually been seriously genuinely officially 100% confirmed confirmed – by Moto – for the 1st of next month. About freakin’ time.
In the meantime, we’re getting another cheeky look at the Moto X, this time in the form of an apparently official press render thingy.
Motorola had already confirmed that the Moto X would launch in “summer”, and with leaks springing here there and everywhere anyway, it’s sensibly leaving no room for interpretation on the Moto X August 1 New York invite. We all know what’s going down, now we know where and when.
The Moto X has been hailed as a “game changer” by those supposedly in the know, and – interestingly – rather than going down the well-trodden 5in 1080p, quad-core, 13MP road (yawn), the US manufacturer is taking a refreshingly different approach.
Motorola hopes to wow customers not with specs, but with a focus on durability, battery life, and customisable designs on the rear, perhaps including – wait for it – wood?
August 1 isn’t too long away. Looking at my calendar it’s… one week on Thursday. I’m actually quite looking forward to it, man. You?
