The Motorola Atrix was announced back in January, but despite all the impressive handsets launched since it remains one of the smartphones we're most looking forward to seeing in the first half of this year.
And now it's lined up to make another good-news addition to a Stuff is Here feature – as Orange has confirmed it'll be carrying the dual-core powerhouse from early next month.
In case you need the reminder, the Atrix features a dual-core 1GHz processor, a 4in screen running at the new resolution of choice among the smartphone elite class – 540 x 960 (or qHD) – as well as a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, as well as 720p video recording.
And with the seriously high-end Samsung Galaxy S II looking at an early May launch itself, the Atrix has decided to limber up itself for its own UK debut in the same timeframe. It will be available exclusively through Orange at first, and will come free on £35-a-month contracts over two years, giving you 600 minutes, unlimited texts, 750MB of data and 50 MMS messages a month, plus unlimited Wi-Fi.
Probably more interesting is news that a “Work and Play Kit” will dish up Moto's Multimedia Dock for the Atrix for an extra £50 for new customers, or free of charge for Orange customers upgrading to the Atrix before the end of next month.
