We feel a little guilty for not showing Motorola more Mobile World Congress-related love this week. But you see, they’d already revealed the Motorola Atrix and Xoom tablet at January’s CES in Vegas.
Still, we hit the Motorola stand in Barcelona and were mightily impressed with “the world’s most powerful smartphone.” And great news for North Americans who can’t wait to get their hands on it: the Motorola Atrix starts shipping on Monday.
Motorola’s Seth Bloom tweeted: “We'll beat our target timing. ATRIX 4G in-store sales begin 2/22. Existing pre-orders will be shipped for delivery on 2/21.”
Not so good news for us on the other side of the Atlantic. Still no UK release date for the Motorola Atrix or Xoom just yet. Historically, the US-based manufacturer hasn’t seen us as a priority.
This week we found out that the UK will get the Motorola Pro, but the Droid Pro (as it’s known as over there) has been available for three months in the States already, and it was last summer when they first announced it. Bah.
Fingers crossed that the high-profile Motorola Atrix qualifies for an express ticket to the UK.
