why does my motorola defy boot every other device off when I connect via wifi

Whenever I try to connect to the wi-fi hub it works for about 30 seconds then it kicks every other device and itself off and shuts down the hub. To get anything else on again I have to restart the hub. If I try to connect with nothing else attached it just works for 30 secs then kicks itself off and shuts the hub. Any advice please

What kind of hub do you use? Not saying I'd have an answer, but I guess it's relevant info...

Could be IP address conflict that hub does not handle properly. Something wrong with hub. Hvae you tried a different hub? Friends house?

I use the black BT Home Hub and have been since the new year. I've tried it at a couple of neighbours houses and the same results have occurred. Some have the same hubs but older and others are completely different. The phone connected to the wifi in McD's a couple of weeks ago but I was only there for a short while.

Have you tried any of the suggested 'solutions'?

Many thanks JanSt, will check the link when I'm at home later as works computers can be a bit temperamental about what sites it likes. The main solution I was getting when I last looked was to alter the frequency of the hub but why would you do this if you have 7 or 8 things that work and its just the one that's causing the problem?

I'll admit, WiFi is not something I'm good at. I have hardly any broadband at home, and at work it's heavily secured. Hope you find a solution - things like that can drive me mad(der) :)

JanSt you're a diamond. I changed the link slightly because I kept getting an error message, it now looks like this https://supportforums.motorola.com/thread/41031
Many Thanks as it now works perfectly and no-one elses devices are being ejected (_;)
