With mid-range specs, little desire to move beyond the US, and a significant price tag, it’s probably fair to say the much-discussed Moto X – the manufacturer’s first phone produced under Google’s gaze – was a bit of a disappointment.
The Motorola DVX will likely do little to change your opinion of big M, though it might appeal to, like, emerging markets or something.
Following the Moto X launch, a spokesperson said: “Because it is the first one, the Moto X has had a real buzz around it, but the US launch is not about the US being Motorola's priority at all, there are devices coming to Europe.
“We can't share what they are as of yet, but they are from the same family. They are cool and they are exciting and there is a lot in Europe coming up."
Er, hopefully they weren’t talking about the Motorola DVX. We’re not in a position to talk exact specs just yet, but it’s thought to be lower down the ladder than the Moto X flagship, with a wallet-friendly price tag and interchangeable backplates. Hmm.
Pulling various rumours together, it looks like the Motorola DVX backplates will come in pink, green, white and black. Exciting.
