Motorola Moto G second-gen (2014) microsd

What size microsd card can a Motorola Moto G second-gen (2014) take?
GSMArena says 32GB. Is that really the maximum? Is there anything to stop it supporting 64GB or even 128GB? Thanks!

Hi,
The question is NOT "Where can I see, if it doesn`t ?", but WHEN! When you filled up the card on the phone with more than 64GB, you should be fine. ;) :p

Honestly, there is no guarantee. And no way to 'test' with some program or app how much is available on the card. Windows Explorer or Mac Finder may well say, yep... 119 GB free. But is all that space usable? It should be. There are many liars on the webs, but it seems many folks on many sites say they have no problems with 128GB cards on 2nd gen Moto G phones - provided the card was properly formatted.
And formatting is where one issue arises: exFat e.g. is just peachy, mostly... but: Mac OS cannot properly deal with that format. It can throw Spotlight indexing and search into a hissy fit. In fact: I tried various formatting approaches when I played with a HTC One M8, and no one solution would allow me to easily use a 64GB card between the M8, a Macbook and a Win 7 PC... yay, progress, eh!

A lot of folks on Reddit, XDA etc say they have zero issues with 64 GB micro SD cards in their 2nd gen Motorola Moto G (2014). That is no guarantee, of course. And I have no tried it. I had the 1st gen Moto G only...

RAM?

You mean 64GB SD cards? As I said above: numerous posters on Reddit and XDA Forums etc say they have no issues with 64GB cards.
If you mean something else, hit the enigma machine now.

Hi there,

I inserted a 128 microSD which has been successfully formated by the system. I can see 119GB of usable space. For me, it seems to support that amount of space. Where can I see, if it doesn`t ?!?!?
