Maybe it’s the name, or the anticipation, but any rumours surrounding the Motorola X Phone tend to get us all quivery in anticipation – until we find out they’re fake, that is.
Take this blurry looking “leak”, which comes with some teasy words, a curious product name we haven’t heard before and best of all some interesting sounding specs. Put that way it’s no surprise to hear it’s a fake, is it?
The leaked image, supposedly of some kind of X Phone marketing material, introduces us to the “Motorola NXT”, telling us we’re getting our “first look at the X-Phone”.
Only we’re not. The person who composed the original concept render – before the Mr Blurrycam effect was added to make it look all leakish – has confirmed as much, confirming this is as fake as they come. And to be honest we’re happy about that, as without the blur the “Motorola NXT” is no great looker.
There were some specs too – some nifty ones too. We’re talking 4.7in full HD display, quad-core 2.3GHz Nvidia Tegra 4i CPU, 2GB of RAM, 16MP camera plus 5MP front-facer. No, really.
Sadly, AndroidWorld has confirmed that those too are fake. Which is a shame, because that sounds like quite a phone.
We’re still not 100% sure the Motorola X Phone exists at all, of course, but it’s nice to think Google is working on some kind of uber-phone for its Moto plaything. Whether it is or not, though – this ain’t it.
