Unless you’ve been living in cryostasis for the past week, you’ll know that Apple’s Maps app is somewhat, er, lacking in a few areas. Not the end of the world, of course, but important enough to make news headlines, apparently.
Anyway! Google-owned Motorola has taken a cheeky potshot at Apple, with a picture of the Google Maps-rockin’ Motorola Razr M side by side with the iPhone 5.
The picture was posted over on Google+ with the header “Looking for 315 E 15th in Manhattan? Google Maps on DROID RAZR M will get you there & not #iLost in Brooklyn.”
Apple Maps was introduced with iOS 6 last week, ahead of the iPhone 5’s release, and immediately noted for having incorrectly named landmarks, and lack of detail in some places.
Unfortunately, Apple Maps replaces Google Maps in iOS 6, and the latter hasn’t yet appeared on the App Store. However, you can always use maps.google.com on your iBrowser, and shove a shortcut on your home screen.
As for the Motorola Razr M, it boasts a near edge-to-edge display, and will arrive on these shores as the Motorola Razr i, with a 2GHz Intel processor.
