Motorola Xoom 2 arriving this week

Motorola Xoom 2 arriving this weekWith all the smartphones Motorola has been pumping out recently, I have to admit I keep forgetting about the Motorola Xoom 2.

In fact, there’s not just one but two of the buggers, namely the Motorola Xoom 2 and the slightly smaller Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition, and Clove reckons they’re both arriving in a matter of days.

The larger Motorola Xoom 2 will arrive first on December 2, this Friday, and Clove has it priced at £399 including VAT. The Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition will follow on December 5, that’s Monday, and it’ll cost £358.80 all in.

Other than the display sizes, the Motorola Xoom 2 and Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition have almost identical specs. The former has a 10.1in screen, while the latter weighs in with 8.2in.

Both tablets have a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, and a 5MP/1.3MP camera combo. We’re happy to see that the 10.1in Motorola Xoom 2 is quite a bit lighter than its predecessor (599g vs. 730g).

The Motorola Xoom 2 and Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition will ship with Honeycomb (Android 3.2), but an update to Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) has already been confirmed.

Interested? Clove warns: “Whilst at this time we have more stock than orders, the supply is going to be very limited and it is unlikely that there will be available stock by the time the devices arrive.” Get in quick, Jeeves.

mmm saw these in the carphone warehouse last weekend in oxford.

No microSD support is a major let down for me.

This will struggle against the Transformer original and Transformer Prime IMO, think Asus has more or less closed out the "top end" android tablet market now
