Motorola Xoom and Atrix sales 'disappointing'

Motorola's Xoom tablet and Atrix smartphone have certainly been talked up enough over the past few months, but high prices and indifferent reviews have led one analyst to label their sales performance as “disappointing”. Wired has the full story.

More 'talked down' recently. Though in fairness, the Motorola Atrix itself gets fairly decent reviews - it's that silly dock that gets a lot of heat.
What gets me is this - the idea isn't even new. Redfly tried it and others, too. And the price and performance each and every time cried, 'buy a laptop instead'.
On the other hand, I do believe eventually it may become more popular, but only when those docks become cross-platform compatible. Imagine HDMI out in phones would only work with a tv set of the same make as the phone...

Could one of the problems with the Xoom be that they released it well before the product was actually ready ?

You have to worry about a company that thinks it's acceptable to release a tablet with an SD card slot that they still can't make work more than a month after release.
