The Xoom is Motorola’s first foray into the tablet arena, and launches today in the States. It has the honour of being the first tablet available with Android 3.0 (Honeycomb).

Interestingly, the Motorola Xoom is shipping without Flash in the US, but Adobe has promised an update in “a few weeks”. In any case, Flash support will be well and truly sorted by the time the Xoom hits the UK, probably in Q2.

The dual-core Xoom has a 10.1in screen, 720p HD video recording, a 5MP rear camera and 2MP on the front.

The Motorola Xoom will face stiff competition from the iPad, the imminent iPad 2 (officially being unveiled on March 2), and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.
