We've had to be patient in waiting for Motorola to launch its Xoom tablet here in the UK, and we've spent a lot of that time speculating about just what it will cost.
Well, Moto has finally come clean with some official prices, and – surprise, surprise – the Honeycomb-powered slate is going to cost exactly the same as an iPad 2 when it goes on sale next week.
A variety of online retailers have tweaked their pre-orders price tags for the Xoom, and Motorola has confirmed that the new prices are in fact official. The 32GB tablet will set you back £479.99 if you're happy with Wi-Fi alone, or £579.99 if you want to add 3G.
That matches Apple's prices for the corresponding iPad 2 models exactly – well, actually Apple is still 99p cheaper on both models, but let's not split hairs.
At present the Xoom is still listed as being in full pre-order mode, but fingers-crossed the 10in slate will officially go on sale in the next week – that's what Motorola promised us, and it hasn't given any signs to the contrary.
