How can I move iOS photos - not just copy them?

When I put pics in an iOS photo album, they appear in that album AND in Camera Roll. Is that duplicating memory? Can I move photos instead of copying them?

Not without jailbreak, or by organising them on your computer.... Why don't you delete them from the camera roll?
There's an Album app in the Appstore you could use. Import pics into that album and then delete them from the camera roll.

As to the 'duplicating memory' bit... I'm not 100% certain, but I think: NO - it's similar to a music playlists. You can have a track in 28 different playlists, but only one copy of the file is actually present.
If I'm wrong, please correct me.
