Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 is well underway (H E L P M E), but it’s not all about flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9; there’s lots going on at entry-level and in the midrange category, too.
Take the spanking new Sony Xperia M4 Aqua, for example. The Xperia Z4 it is not, but it sounds like a great little phone in its own right.
You’d be forgiven for thinking the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua was already a thing; you’re probably thinking of the Xperia M2 Aqua. Not that I made that mistake. Ahem.
Sony Xperia M4 Aqua specs include a 5in 720p HD display, 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB expandable storage, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, LTE connectivity, Android Lollipop 5.0, and a 2,400mAh battery yielding up to two days’ use on a single charge.
The unique claim here is the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua’s resistance to dust and water, something that typically isn’t found on a lot of midrange smartphones.
The Sony Xperia M4 Aqua release date is stated as “from Spring 2015”, and it’s heading for “80 countries worldwide”, presumably including the UK.
Off-contract, Sony Xperia M4 Aqua price is set at €299, which is roughly £217 in direct translation to ye olde British pound. Hopefully we'll see some sweet deals on this in due course.
