Pocket-lint popped down to a joint Orange/Kineto Wireless event in London this week, and walked away with a series of shots of a mysterious new phone, which may or may not be the LG Flip II.
The handset is an intriguing dual-screen affair, with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard that's split to accommodate the second display. Unfortunately the rep was unable to shed any light on the T-Mobile branded device, but did mention the Flip II.
The bottom screen displayed a number of apps, permitting quick-launch action without having to navigate back to the home screens or app list. That could be pretty handy, actually. It’s not clear if that’s the only purpose the bottom display will serve.
In fact, absolutely nothing is clear about this dual-screen fellow. Pocket-lint noted significant movement when the phone was closed, so it might be an early prototype. Indeed, the old-school Android wallpaper suggests it might've already been canned.
On the other hand, a leaked US roadmap mentions an LG Flip II (T-Mobile) and an LG Optimus Slider (Sprint). Is this phone one of them? Both? Neither? Stay tuned.
