Nexus 7 begins popping up at other retailers

Nexus 7 begins popping up at other retailersWhen Google and Asus lifted the lid on the Nexus 7 on Wednesday, the Google Play store opened its doors to the UK public for the first time.

While the 8GB Nexus 7 is expected to remain a Google Play exclusive, the 16GB model is tipped to make its way to a number of other retailers. As of right now, you can pre-order your 16GB Nexus 7 from Ebuyer.

Pricing remains the same, so you’re looking at £199 for a 16GB Asus Nexus 7, rocking a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, 7in IPS display, and a generous handful of Jelly Bean (Android 4.1).

However, it’s not clear if you’ll qualify for the £15 credit on offer at Google Play. Going down the direct route, you’ll also bag a free copy of Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Certainly, there’s no mention of either – £15 credit or Transformers – in the Ebuyer item description.

The Asus Nexus 7 is also tipped to make its way to PC World, Currys, Carphone Warehouse, HMV and Tesco, with in-store stock expected around July 27.

I'd rather have the free delivery over the £15 Play Store credit. I rarely buy apps (or any other play store stuff), so the credit would be of little use to me.

The delivery charge does seem rather excessive. And not bought much from the play store either, guess it is expanding somewhat though
