Nokia 808 PureView UK release date

When is the Nokia 808 PureView being released in the UK?

23rd of April for most online retailers.

Don't know of any networks picking up the phone though, so i doubt you'll be able to get it on contract in the UK from a network directly.

Good question? Seems most people haave already forgotten about the 808...

Well, it'll have the latest version of Sym...oops, Nokia OS Belle, so maybe there is still some finetuning going on?
I haven't come across any firm date...

I definitely want to see this phone, not convinced I'd want one..

Maybe if this wasn't running a dying (sorry Jan) OS, I'd look at one, but that huge camera lump and the OS put me right off.

That 'Lump' is neccessary. No phone manufacturer can put a sensor that big in to a device without having a raised area. If you're not farmiliar with optics, the bigger the sensor, the bigger gap you need between the lens and the sensor itself, so that it can take in all that information.
And the OS is fine. It doesn't need a nuclear power station to run it, or any of the apps & games. Androids have gone quad core and they still can't even properly multi-task.

While I'd accept that the lens needs more space I don't think the ugly lump was the best way design wise to achieve it.
The OS maybe functional but it's just not that interesting.
