The Nokia Lumia 610 didn’t get us particularly excited when it was unveiled at Mobile World Congress last month. With Tango, it offers the lowest Windows Phone specs to date, but that’ll inevitably equate to big sales.
Anyways, the official spec sheet for the Nokia Lumia 610 confirms that it’ll have Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities, a feature which was of course missing from the Nokia Lumia 710 and 800. Oops!
Under ‘Internet sharing’, the spec sheet explains that you can “Use [the Nokia Lumia 610] as a WiFi hotspot for up to 5 Wifi-enabled devices”. Sweet.
The Nokia Lumia 900 will also have the Wi-Fi hotspot feature, leaving Nokia Lumia 710 and 800 owners shaking their fists in impotent anger.
Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity can be a lifesaver when proper Wi-Fi ain’t available. I quite often use it on my trusty HTC Desire HD.
The Nokia Lumia 610 will land in Q2, with a presumably super-low price. Initial Nokia chat mentioned €189 (around £160), but the Nokia Lumia 700 has been spotted as low as £150, so we reckon the Lumia 610 will be even more wallet-friendly.
