We first heard talk of the Nokia E6 around a month ago when the Finns' latest business phone showed up on a Nokia user agent file. Now we have something far more tangible on the forthcoming E-Series contender: an actual photograph.
The pic in question – sent in to Engadget by an anonymous tipster – shows pretty much what we expected the E6 to be: an affordable QWERTY business offering that doesn't look to rock the boat an awful lot. Hopefully we'll get a closer look next week in Barcelona.
The E6, or the E6-00 as we were referring to it a month ago, looks set to sit snugly between the smaller E5 and the ambitious E7 (no surprise given that it's named between them) but while the original spec we saw last month suggested a device that might be going for a more media-friendly business face, the physical end product does little to set the pulse rating.
Its form factor and QWERTY keyboard are vanilla E-Series fare without any kind of frills, and while the 640 x 480 screen isn't too bad at all for a business offering, Nokia hasn't been tempted to go the oversize route as per the forthcoming BlackBerry Bold Touch.
As mentioned previously, the 8-megapixel camera with dual LED flash should prove more of a highlight, but beyond that we haven't learned anything new spec-wise.
Still, this should be another one to stop in and fondle at Mobile World Congress next week, and we'll make a point of doing just that.
