Just two days to go before the 41MP Nokia 'Eos' finally becomes a reality, but that hasn't stopped a bit of last-minute leakage rolling out concerning the PureView imaging powerhouse.
And it's a bit of a surprise too to be honest, as it seems the Eos will be released as the Nokia Lumia 1020, and not the Lumia 909 that's been pushed as a likely title in the past week or so.
A few sample shots have popped up on Flickr taken by a few different Lumia handsets, with the name “Lumia 1020” featured prominently in the EXIF data. The pics were posted by no less than Microsoft's Windows Phone boss Joe Belfiore himself, so it's safe to say the info can be trusted.
They're decent enough shots too – if you're not bothered getting up close and personal with Mr B, that is. There's a small chance the EXIF data isn't accurate – if Nokia's taken a last-minute decision to change the name, for instance – but otherwise it's safe to say Lumia 1020 is the name we're looking at.
Everything else will become clear when Nokia's long-awaited Windows Phone imaging specialist takes a bow at a dedicated event in New York on Thursday.
