Nokia: free Monster headphones if you buy a Lumia 800 or 900

Nokia: free Monster headphones if you buy a Lumia 800 or 900The cynical among you will no doubt see this as a desperate ploy by Nokia to punt more Lumia smartphones, while others might simply see it as a cheeky bonus with your spanking new handset purchase.

In any case, Nokia is offering free Monster Purity HD Headsets, supposedly worth £199, if you happen to buy one of the two biggest (in terms of literal size) Lumias throughout May.

There are, of course, a number of terms and conditions, most notably that the offer only applies to the Nokia Lumia 800 and Lumia 900, the latter going on sale around mid-May.

Also, the purchase must be made from an “authorised retailer” (not quite sure who qualifies just yet) between May 1 and May 31.

The promotion brings to mind HTC’s partnership with Beats Audio, wherein it used to give away headsets and earphones with its handsets.

However, the Beats Audio promotion was ultimately shelved and the CFO who spearheaded the project was controversially sidelined. Coincidence? Peter Chou says so.

Anyway, I digress! You can read more about Nokia’s Monster Purity promotion here at

Those are some of the ugliest headphones I've ever seen. I suppose you might be able to sell them on to reduce the cost of phone but hideous.

They are shocking.

That's even worse. Sounds dangerous ;)

Only £135 on Amazon and one shocking review. Probably aren't selling any so giving them away instead.

Having whacked a pair of these into my own Lumia, I can confirm that they provide a sound like a cat passing wind through a sewn-up rear-end.

So disappointing that I can't rate that description. Superb.

Lol. I've seen Lumia 710's sold with free Zune Music for 6 months. Why not make the offer with those phones that are selling a bit at least?
