A Nokia executive reckons Windows Phone is the new cool kid on the mobile block, claiming that today's youth are “fed up” by the iPhone and find Android to be overly complicated.
We presume this is the same youth that recently named the iPhone as their third most wanted techy toy for Christmas, trumped only by Apple's own iPod touch and iPad.
We're as happy as anyone to see Nokia back in the land of the living and earning some much-needed positive press now that the Lumia 800 has officially landed.
But Niels Munksgaard, the director of portfolio, product marketing and sales at Nokia Entertainment Global is clearly letting a little success get to his head.
“What we see is that youth are pretty much fed up with iPhones. Everyone has the iPhone,” Munksgaard told Pocket-lint. “Also, many are not happy with the complexity of Android and the lack of security. So we do increasingly see that the youth that wants to be on the cutting edge and try something new are turning to the Windows Phone platform.”
Now for our money, the fact that “everyone has the iPhone” means they're clearly not fed up with the iPhone – just the opposite, in fact. And we'd love to hear from all those kids who're steering clear of Android phones out of security fears.
Don't stop drinking the Kool-Aid, Niels...
