Well, well, what have we here? Nokia has just dished out invitations to a press event in London on Tuesday, April 12, promising to dish out some fresh new Symbian goodness. Yes, that's right: Symbian.
The much-maligned OS is well overdue a bit of attention, but whether we're looking at developments to the platform itself or the announcement of new devices with Symbian on board remains to be seen. Who knows – we may even get both.
The invitation asks us to “discover what's new with Symbian smartphones”, which could cut either way, really.
First prize in our book would be more info on the intriguing new Nokia T7 which has been rattling around the rumour mill for a few weeks now. From what we've seen the device itself doesn't look earth-shattering, but we are interested to know just what the T Series is supposed to bring to the table that the other Nokia ranges don't.
A new version of the OS itself? Highly unlikely, although we could potentially be looking at an update – Symbian^3 has been knocking around in its current form for a good while now, so it would certainly be welcome.
