Just yesterday we were expressing the hope that Nokia's October 22 event turning out to be a full-scale Nokia World in Abu Dhabi meant quite a few new devices are on the menu.
And it seems we're right: sources in the know have revealed Nokia has six new devices in the pipelines, plus a bunch of new accessories, one of which is supposed to be “pretty special”.
The Verge says “sources familiar with Nokia's roadmap” have opened up on what could be its final big event as an independent company before its handset operation is taken over by Microsoft.
At least two of the remaining four are likely to be Asha feature phones, but hopefully there'll be at least one more Lumia device – potentially the WP8 GDR3-based Lumia 929 that's reportedly heading for US network Verizon.
The Verge's sources talk about the releases covering a “large range” of form factors and devices, which likely means feature phones, smartphones, phablet and tablet, but who knows – maybe there's another arbitrary sub-division of mobile technology waiting to be invented?
As for the accessories, we have no idea what the “pretty special” accessory could be. Another wireless charging solution or PureView camera grip, perhaps? We'll know in four weeks.
