Nokia Lumia 1520: one last rumour piece ahead of Nokia World announcement

Nokia Lumia 1520: one last rumour piece ahead of Nokia World announcementNokia's debut phablet, the Lumia 1520, is less than 24 hours away from an official announcement over at Nokia World in Abu Dhabi, but if you're still hankering for one last rumour piece, this one's for you.

A last-minute double-leak has given us both a fresh render of the Lumia 1520 to get us through the night, plus confirmation of its headline specs arriving directly from Nokia itself.

The pic comes from the ever-predictable @evleaks, who we suspect lives life by a fairly complicated calendar mapping out just when each snippet of info regarding upcoming devices will be drip-fed separately to guarantee maximum exposure from rumour-hungry mobile fans.

His final contribution to the Lumia 1520 build-up is the pic you see above, which shows the Lumia 1520 next to the Nokia Treasure Tag, a Bluetooth-driven gizmo you attach to your most important (i.e. “treasured”) belongings and keep track of through a companion app, which you can see running on the Lumia 1520's screen.

The Treasure Tag has been in the works for a while now, and based on this evidence is a dead cert to be announced tomorrow. It looks decent enough, though it's probably not the “pretty special” bit of kit we were told to expect a month ago. We're talking Bluetooth after all... not that there's anything wrong with that, of course. But still.

Anyway, back to the Lumia 1520 itself, and from Engadget China we have news that the Lumia 1520 has been spotted on Nokia's own Tmall online marketplace.

It's only a placeholder page for now, and only lists the headline specs, so at least there's a slight grumble of thunder left unstolen ahead of the Nokia World unveiling tomorrow.

But it does confirm the Lumia 1520 name once and for all, and repeats the trio of spec highlights that matter the most: the 6in 1080p display, Snapdragon 800 processor and 20MP PureView camera.

The Tmall listing claims a Y4999 price, which directly converted is just over £500, though it'll probably be a tad more once it's available in the UK directly.

And the price and on-sale date are about the only important details we've yet to find out about the Lumia 1520. All will be revealed soon.
