Nokia Lumia 710 vs Nokia Lumia 800

With the Nokia Lumia 710 going for £100 and the Nokia Lumia 800 going for £200, is the latter worth twice the price?

Yeah only one wp7 got memory slot and MS apparently wasn't happy about it.

I thought the 710 was £130 nowadays?

Mainly for the exquisite build quality, yes. Judged on functionality? No, buy a Lumia 710 instead of the Lumia 800. Same difference. But again: If you are Lumia-curious, the 800 is rather well-built. I have an N9 (more or less same build as Lumia 800), and although some software issues have been driving me mad, no other phone feels quite as classy in comparison. Again: I'm talking hard-, not software-wise.

I hear the 800 has an appalling battery, the 710 is bad too, the 710 had NO memory slot (WHY FFS ?) all in all, I think I'll stay with Android.

That is a WP/Microsoft thing. Nothing to do with those two phones or Nokia scecifically ;)
I heard a couple of software updates improved the Lumia 800's battery life significantly?
Can't vouch for that, though. My N9 (MeeGo, not WP) was appaling battery-wise on the original OS, but since 1.2 I'm getting a day and a half+ from it....
