That's nothing - ONLY €429 on Vodafone Ireland RTG ouch

Cheaper than 2nd hand ones there too still?

JanSt / MOD  Sep. 21, 2012 at 13:43

2nd hand I've seen them offered for €200-ish ... Offered. Not sold, though :p

Is it just the Nokia's that keep crazy prices there?

JanSt / MOD  Sep. 21, 2012 at 14:23

No. They don't call it rip-off island for nothing ;)

Great price. Despite the early launch problems, the battery life is solid. It'll happily make it through 2 days of normal use. The phone itself is lacking in places, but I'd expect Windows 7.8 to give it that little bit extra.

Probably better to expect little from 7.8 and take what comes along, less disappointment that way.
Can't imagine they've gone all out on it.

Agree with blizzard. For the price it is a great device. Rhymes with rice.

I'm not expecting 7.8 to work wonders, but I just think the new homescreen, proper Bluetooth and all the other tweaks coming with it will make it an excellent buy at this price.

Better than lice but not as cool as the three blind mice. 900 for this price and and I'll buy one in a thrice.

Asda coming up with some impressive deals of late.

Fair play then :) Didn't realise they'd given clues as to what they were doing with 7.8.

Talking of bluetooth I see ios6 mucked that up to somewhat.

Likewise, thought I don't care about WP7.8 so I always skip over articles, even here :p.

iOS6 seems like a bit of a mess, tbh. Siri on the iPad 3 works well, not a good as GNow, but that's just the two programs.

Not sure what 7.8 will bring with my Lumia, but bluetooth and equalizer improvements are top of my wishlist.

Already thinking what will replace it on my next contract.

Pondlife  Sep. 23, 2012 at 01:00

How long is it til then?

My contract? End of 2013/Early 2014.

Damn that's some forward planning. Nokia 940, 840, even a 740 maybe, Note 3 ;)
