The things some people will do for a little attention. Imagine you're a bit of a DIY enthusiast, and you've somehow managed to misplace your hammer. You have a problem, right? Not if you're a Nokia Lumia 900 owner.
A new video has been doing the rounds featuring the Lumia 900 being used as a makeshift hammer – and itself being assaulted by one – and coming out the other side without a scratch.
It's all about demonstrating just how strong the Nokia flagship's Gorilla Glass display really is.
The clip starts with the 900 being laid down on a workbench and assaulted by a real hammer trying to drive a nail into its glass display. The result? Not even the slightest scratch or mark.
Impressive enough, but the torture doesn't end there. Next, the Lumia 900 switches roles and is used to hammer some nails into a plank of wood. Again, not the slightest mark.
It's clear that the force used in the experiment wasn't exactly Herculean, but it's nonetheless a pretty big endorsement of Nokia's build quality and Gorilla Glass' strength.
The clip was put together by of a pair of Nokia engineers looking to prove to a colleague who had been impressed by a similar video starring a Sonim handset that the Lumia 900 is every bit as tough as the self-titled world's toughest phone.
An admirable idea, but is it just me or is the Nokia being smacked about way more gently than the tough guy from Sonim? Just saying...
