Is the Nokia Lumia 925 the best Windows Phone so far?

True Matt... Or, true-ish...
Most people don't buy sim-free. On PAYG or contract the difference between the 920 and 925 is almost non-existent.
You are right, of course, with re to the overall improvements. But that is true for almost all devices and makes. One X or One? Most people wouldn't notice the extra bang of the One - exterior aside. SGS3 or 4? Many didn't care. And I've seen unopened, unwanted-upgrade Sony Z go for €300!

The 808 is Symbian so it doesn't relate to the OP's question. Unfortunately, s/he loaded the question with classic trollbait - "best"?!? Best is, as the PR says, the camera you have with you when you need it. For phones, imho, that means the package has to be right. If you take a lot of photos and videos, the best camera may not be the best in terms of battery or storage...
Etc etc...

If you need more than 16gb of storage (or whatever of that 16gb is user accessible), then no. If you fancy paying a massive premium over the, in some ways better (namely double the storage capacity and wireless charging), Lumia 920, then yes.

Personally, if I had to buy a WP device right now, it'd be the ATIV S, simply because it looks less like a toy than the other stupid coloured WP devices and isn't a massive rip off like the 925.

TL;DR: Best is subjective.

What a stupid uninformed comment!
The bundled apps including Here are vastly superior to the Samsung phone..
The camera is superior to all other smartphones to date including the Galaxy S4 and the build is better than any Samsung device.
It certainly is the best so far and YES I have just bought it!!

Well, your opinion is totally not subjective then...people never try to justify something they've just spent a load of money on, that's totally unheard of.

If you want to get picky, the camera on the 925 is actually far inferior to that of the 808, so you can cut the "best camera ever" crap. The 808 might have not been a great phone, but it does still hold the title for best phone camera.

As for the build, Samsung devices don't suffer from poor build quality, in fact their build quality is some of the best on the market. It's uninformed people, such as yourself, who confuse build with materials, it is in the materials quality department where Samsung phones apparently suffer (despite the plastic they're made of being extremely hard wearing, especially compared to aluminium, which scratches and dents very easily).

So you're saying the massive premium you pay for the 925 is worth it over the 920 (which has the Here apps you mentioned) or the ATIV S (which looks like a device an adult wouldn't be ashamed to get out in a meeting)? If so, you clearly have more money than sense, my friend...

massive premium you pay for the 925

Matt, various places sell the 925 for less than the 920 - O2 Ireland - €50 less for the 925! And from all I've seen the camera is significantly better. In a less chunky physique...

@devasurfer,
"stupid" is more than a bit too harsh, especially if you consider that the 925 was a huge letdown at the launch where everyone and their poodles expected the "EOS" which will end the reign of the 925 fairly soon....

So they give you a camera which people would love to take nice pictures with, then cripple it by removing half the internal storage. Yeah...that sounds like a Nokia business move to me ;).

The cheapest I can find it here in the UK is £480 (Clove)...the 920 has been on HUKD for £250 with a free speaker within the last week or so. I'm sorry, but a better camera doesn't warrant a £230 price difference (especially when you take into account the fact that the 925 is not better across the board). If you were that bothered about photos, you could buy a 920 and a dedicated compact camera (which would blow the 925 out of the water) with your £230 change.
