We never get tired of product codenames – well, not good ones anyway – and Nokia is certainly on safe ground dipping into the intrigue and mystery of good old 007 in codenaming a pair of its upcoming smartphones.
We're talking about the Goldfinger and Moneypenny, which according to @evleaks will be the first handsets to hit the market running Windows Phone 8.1 Blue.
That would be the major upgrade Microsoft is planning for Windows Phone in the first half of next year.
It certainly would make sense for the first WP Blue handsets to be Nokias – or should we say Lumias, seeing how the Nokia name is sooner or later going to be disappeared from the scene.
So what else do we know about the Goldfinger and Moneypenny? In the best spirit of the secret service, absolutely nothing beyond the names.
It's logical to assume they'll be smartphones, but with the likelihood that Windows Phone 8.1 will support screen sizes all the way up to 10 inches, there's an outside chance at least one of them could actually be a tablet.
We'll keep you in the loop as soon as we know more.
