Why is my nokia n73 so slow in sending text messages?

It takes a lot longer than it used to, it's getting very slow,. Is there anything I can do?

It's a bit long in the tooth now, isn't it?
Best you can do is a FACTORY RESET. Have a fresh start.
First back up your settings, contacts etc (menu, memory, backup)..

Have you updated the firmware at all? The N73 received a number of performance boosting updates. Connect the phone to your PC in PC-suite mode. Start Ovi Suite, and check for updates. (again: back up your goodies first)

Mine used to get slow when I had too many messages stored - make sure at least your inbox isn't chocca-bloc and see if that makes a difference.

Yes, indeed, the N73 had a bug that made it slow-down when the inbox got too cramped. As I said: back-up mesages etc to your PC, and do a factory reset. Than use Ove Suite to check if there is a newer firmware. There is still life in that phone ;)
