We're all locked into seeing what Nokia has lined up for its first slice of Windows Phone Mango action – the device codenamed Sea Ray that Nokia boss Stephen Elop flashed days after the Nokia N9 was unveiled.
But now there's another name you might do well to add to your smartphone lexicon: Sabre. That's the name of a mystery second Windows Phone-powered Nokia phone that's been leaked inadvertently by none other than Microsoft itself.
We'll say right here that there's nothing here more than a name to talk about, but it's an interesting point all the same – and in fact the Nokia Sabre isn't the only name leaked: we also now know about the Samsung Yukon and Wembley too, all thanks to the rules page for a competition on a Microsoft Canada website where a Mango-powered phone is up for grabs as a prize.
“The type of Windows Phone 7.5 will vary and will be selected at Microsoft’s choosing (examples include Samsung Yukon, Samsung Wembley, Nokia Searay and Nokia Sabre),” the text reads – or it did, anyway – Microsoft has now removed the references.
But the horse has now obviously bolted, and we look forward to hopefully hearing more about the Nokia Sabre in the weeks to come.
