If ever a phone was inappropriately named - not once but twice - it’s the Nokia Lumia 730, codenamed “Superman” and nicknamed the “Selfie phone”. But I’ll get back to that in a moment.
The big story here is that the Nokia Lumia 730 has been caught on camera for the first time. Behold.
There’s not a whole lot to take away from the Nokia Lumia 730 pictures on WPCentral, though the handset claims it’s running Lumia Debian Red, which would logically follow (i.e. alphabetically – D coming after C) from Lumia Cyan/Cherry Blossom Pink.
Otherwise we’re left to reiterate rumoured Nokia Lumia 730 specs, while poking fun at it’s various names.
Nokia Lumia 730 specs, first of all, supposedly include a 4.7in 720p display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon 400), 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage, and a 2,000mAh battery.
On the camera side of things, it’s a little less clear (sort-of-pun intended). We’re hearing that there might be two variants, one with an 8MP/5MP combo, and another with a 13MP rear snapper and something more conventional on the front.
In any case, the “Superman” moniker is hardly justified, as the Nokia Lumia 730 won’t be particularly fast, or powerful, or durable - never mind being able to leap tall buildings in a single bound.
Similarly, 5MP hardly qualifies the Nokia Lumia 730 as the “Selfie phone”. It’s already been beaten to the 5MP punch by the Sony Xperia C3, and not forgetting the Huawei Ascend P7 with its 8MP front camera.
Anyway! Moaning aside, the Nokia Lumia 730 will likely do exactly what it’s supposed to, and that’s act as a perfectly serviceable mid-range Windows Phone.
