Our ears pricked up the other day when we heard news of a mysterious new Nokia in the works that seems set to introduce the all-new T Series to the mobile world.
The Nokia T7-00 was revealed in an Ovi Publisher tools document, and while it didn't give us much to chew over, now it seems there could be a pic of the new device too.
Chinese site PCPop claims to have nabbed a pic of the new T7-00, and gives us a bit more spec goodness to go with it. Aside from the 640 x 360-pixel display already detailed in the original leak – which puts the T7-00 in the same league as Nokia's other range-toppers – the site claims a 700MHz ARM processor, an 8-megapixel camera and a dedicated graphics chip with Open GL 2.0 support.
A couple of points don't quite ring true, however. For starters, a second pic of the rear of the supposed T7-00 shows pretty clearly a Nokia N Series sticker, while the phone itself looks for all the world like a Nokia N8 – even if it doesn't have the 12-megapixel camera that marks the N Series flagship's territory so clearly.
So what are we looking at? Possibly a step-down N Series model – N7, anyone? Or if this is the T Series debutant going incognito, why does it have the T7 model name on the front when most Nokia prototypes simply have the non-commital C0? And either way – just what exactly is Nokia's strategy for its new range?
