If you had to use a non-Android operating system..........

It sounds like most people here are on Android, but what would you use if you had to go with iOS, Windows Phone or BlackBerry 10. For a week, say :p

Why has no one mentioned Symbian.... the KING of all OS's!

Probably iOS, though perhaps I'd give WP a crack - just for laughs

iOS, jailbroken.

iOS, jailbroken.

Naturally

My best experience is with android and launcher8 installed. This gives the look and feel of WP but the broad application library and devices of android.

iOS is too nailed down. Even if you jailbreak you still are stuck with one modern handset. This has barely changed in style since it first came out.

My after giving up waiting for the Nokia 1020 or the Xperia i1 my new Xperia Z turns up on Wednesday. That will have Launcher8 installed straight away along with Camera FV-5.

I tried Launcher8 once
Just for a laugh.
I didn't like it
at all

Me neither. It's nothing like Windows Phone at all really. It makes convincing screen shots, possibly even convincing (heavily edited) YouTube videos. However, the general feel of Launcher8 (and its predecessors) is just off.

If someone offered me an iPhone 5 or a Lumia 925 then I'd take the iPhone. If I had to buy a handset with cash then I'd probably bag one of the cheap Lumias. If I could pick any non-Android handset, it would be the Lumia 1020.

I tried Launcher7

My feelings were similar.

Odd moment here. Courtesy of that thread on HUKD, I now have an iPhone 5 winging its way to me. Should be here Monday. If I don't like it, I'll swap it out for a One or a 925.

In rather typical fashion, I stumbled upon 10GB worth of iOS apps on my HDD about 5 minutes before I ordered and thought to myself "I don't need these any more, why am I wasing the HDD space? [Shift + Delete]."

Saw that offer by O2, I ummed and ahhed until I realised that the iPhone 5 just wasn't enough of a bump up from my 4s so skipped it

And regarding deleting iOS apps, don't worry, you may have deleted them but apple knows what you had, muhahahahahaha.. Ahem, sorry

Also as a parallel question, if I couldn't have iOS? I'd probably go WP8, just can't get on with android

Yeah, I know. It's the redownloading bit that's the pain in the ass. 10GB of downloads over a crappy rural internet connection is not fun.

10GB of iOS apps?

Symbian or WP8.
Questions like this always end up with me thinking about how great my old N8 was.

Funny, when the Lumia 1020 was launched, I thought, hey, maybe now I can shoot a cheap 808
