What are the best non-games on the Android Market?

got an Android phone and looking for useful apps. Not games though, I’ve got loads of them!

The list is extensive. Here's some that I use
Battery Indicator (shows a percentage instead of 'the bar'
3g Watchdog - Checks your obile data usage against your plan (very useful)
Handcent SMS - better than the Android messages text app by miles.
swiftkey - I prefer this above all other keypads available.
Barcode Scanner - saved me a few quid on occasion when out shopping.
ebay app - does what it says likewise with
paypal app
color note - like a post it note app. nice when you don't have a pen about.
ES file explorer - easy to use navigation of your phones system memory
Opera mini - saves you data compared with the Android web browser
Shazam - identify those unknown songs by pointing your phone at the source
quick office - view pc files with ease on your phone.

the list goes on.....

Nice, mrew42!
Yes, Opera Mini is a must - and they just released Opera Mini 6 :D
Pulse is a great newsreader - very smooth UI, and it loads new items at a good speed.
Tune Wiki is a good musicplayer with added wroom: finds lyrics to your tracks, and displays them in tune. It streams web radio, and searches for videos on youtube by artists in your playlist.
Skype works well - imho the best mobile skype on any platform.
Etc etc

Excellent, will go down your lists and see what would be good for me. I definitely need the ebay app, i am addicted to it and didn't even realise they had an app

Just keep an eye on the Market. If you want an app for something chances are someones written one. There's a few HotUKDeals apps out there. How long before we get our very own MOBOT app? ;)

mrew - we hope for a mobot app, but we'll probably get a mobile friendly version of the site up first.

@JanSt & Emmajk42: I'll keep me eyes peeled then, either app or mob friendly would be ace :)
