That depends on the app, your device's Android version, your device.
So, let's start again. What phone, what OS and what app or apps?
Meanwhile: if the app you're looking to manipulate is not listed in Settings under Sounds/Alerts/Notifications etc or similar. look in THAT APP's own settings.
And please: there are over 20,000 android devices... and many variants of Android OS, plus hundreds of UI overlays from OEMs... There is rarely a one-fix-for-all when it comes to Android.
Ah, well... okay, of course there IS an app for that: it is called Megasound. It gets mixed reviews, is still in its Beta phase, and it requires your device runs Android 4.3 or higher.
